Nomura Hai Phong Industrial Zone (NHIZ) is a premier industrial park in Northern Vietnam. Managing an annual electricity consumption worth over 300 billion VND (~$12M+), the operations team oversees power distribution and utility billing across dozens of high-capacity manufacturing facilities.
The Chalenge
Prior to implementing ABIM’s IoT Energy Management solution, NHIZ’s operations department relied entirely on manual meter reading processes across the expansive industrial zone.
Key operational challenges included:
- Time-Consuming Manual Reads: Operations personnel spent 2 to 3 days every month physically walking the park to collect meter numbers from individual sub-stations.
- Hazardous Working Conditions: Staff faced serious safety risks manually inspecting high-voltage electrical meters outdoors during severe storms, typhoons, and heavy rainfall.
- Zero Real-Time Visibility: Operations had no real-time data on active power loads, voltage anomalies, or grid spikes as they occurred.
- Unoptimized Usage Patterns: The park lacked data insights to analyze individual tenant consumption trends or optimize energy distribution during peak load hours.
What did ABIM do
ABIM Software delivered a full-stack, end-to-end IoT Energy Management Platform combining remote hardware integration, central software, and real-time analytics.
ABIM delivered the following solutions:
- Remote Smart Metering Infrastructure: Deployed remote metering hardware and gateways across 100+ meters serving 30+ enterprise tenants.
- Full IoT Software Stack: Designed and built the complete data pipeline from edge hardware devices to centralized software servers.
- IoC & Web Portal Integration: Built an Intelligent Operations Center (IoC) dashboard for park management, paired with a self-service web portal for tenant access.
- Automated Analytics & Reporting: Implemented automated calculations for energy yield, usage trends, and periodic billing reports without human intervention.
